Union Territories Education Ministers, Ramesh Pokhriyal Conducts Meeting to Discuss about Class 12 and Entrance Exam with all states and UT Education Ministers and Secretaries – Central Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal going to conduct a Virtual Meeting with all the states and Union Territories Education Ministers, Education Secretaries and Chairpersons of State Examination Boards and stakeholders to discuss about proposals for the conduct of Class 12 board exams and entrance examinations for professional courses. This meeting will be conducted on 23.05.2021 by 11-30am.
This Meeting will be Chaired by Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh in the presence of Union Minister for Education Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’, Union Minister for Women and Child Smriti Zubin Irani and Union Minister Information and Broadcasting Prakash Javadekar. The discussion will be continued with stack holders, students, parents, teachers and others via Twitter.
This meeting is completely about Class 12 Board Exams and Entrance Exams for Professional Courses. Almost all the state Education Boards, CBSE and CISCE have postponed their Class 12 board exam 2021. And, most of the entrance exams for admissions to professional courses conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) and institutions have also postponed due to Covid-19 curfew. These postponed of board exams and other entrance exams were affecting student’s life drastically.
Union Minster Ramesh Pokhriyal said in his letter that “the COVID-19 pandemic has affected various areas including the Education sector, particularly the board exams and entrance exams”. In this meeting Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Education and CBSE are going to exploring all the options for conduct of examination by keeping in mind the safety and security of the students and the teachers. The Department of Higher Education is going to finalize the dates of examinations for institutions of higher learning.
