About Meghalaya Police Constable Recruitment :

Meghalaya Police Central Recruitment Board is going to start Constable and Sub Inspector Recruitment Test-2019 for Unarmed & Armed Branch Sub Inspector, Constable, Fireman etc. Aspirants who have applied against these posts in Police Cadre will have to face a Recruitment Test in form of PET, Written examination, Interview, PMT. Physical Efficiency & Measurement Test (PET) :

First there will a Physical Measurement Test will be conducted for all the posts. Candidates should have the following minimum heights :

Written Examination :

After the PET/ PMT Written exam will be conducted. It will be conducted only for those candidates will be declared qualified in PET and PMT. Candidates can check the Post wise written exam pattern from below table.

UBSI Postsit will comprise 3 papers

(i) General English – 150 Marks – 90 minutes

(ii) Elementary mathematics, Reasoning and mathematics – 50 Marks – 30 minutes

(ii) General knowledge – 100 Marks – 60 minutes

UB Constable Posts and other UB postsit will comprise 3 papers. Each paper shall carry 100 marks.

(i) General grammar and usage

(ii) Arithmetic and Elementary sciences

AB Constable Posts and other AB postsIt will comprise one paper only. it will consist Elementary & basic knowledge of English, basic Arithmetic and basic GK. Total marks 150.
SF10 ABSI postsIt will consist of 3 papers. Total 200 Marks.

(i) General English – 75 Marks – 120 minutes

(ii) Elementary mathematics, Reasoning and mathematics – 50 Marks – 60 minutes

(ii) General knowledge – 75 Marks – 75 minutes

SF10 Commandos and other SF10 postsIt will comprise one paper only. it will consist Elementary & basic knowledge of English, basic Arithmetic and basic GK. Total marks 200 in 60 minutes.
Follower GroupThere will be no written examination. Only trade test will be conducted of 150 marks for cook, barber and sweeper.

Written Exam Syllabus :-

General English : Précis writing, essay writing, drafting and English Grammar – Spot the Error, Fill in the Blanks, Synonyms, Antonyms, Spellings correction, Idioms & Phrases, One word substitution, Active/Passive Voice, Direct/Indirect speech, Shuffling of Sentence parts, Comprehension Passage.

Elementary Mathematics/ Arithmetic : Whole Number, Decimal and Fractions, Percentages, Ratio and Proportion, Square roots, Averages, Interest, Profit and Loss, Discount, Time and distance, Time and work, geometry, area, volume, mensuration, trigonometry.

Elementary/ Basic Science : General science (science, biology, chemistry, physics), daily every day observations and experience in their scientific aspect as may be expected from any educated person who do not require a special study of scientific subjects, balanced diet, protein, vitamins, diarrhea, diseases due to lack of vitamin and prevention, importance of food items in various disease, vaccination, types of water source, quality standard of drinking water, aquifer, electro-magnetism etc.

Reasoning : Analogy, Symbolic operations, Space Orientation, Classification, Drawing inferences, Figural Classification, Punched hole/pattern-folding & unfolding, Series, Embedded figures, Critical Thinking, Problem Solving, Word Building, Social Intelligence, Coding and de-coding.

General Knowledge based mainly on Meghalaya : Questions are designed to test the candidate’s general awareness of the environment around him and its application to society. Questions are also designed to test knowledge of current events and of such matters of everyday observation and experience in their scientific aspect as may be expected of an educated person. The test will also include questions relating to Meghalaya especially pertaining to History, Culture, Geography, Economic Scene, General policy and scientific research.

Interview :

After the pet/ pmt and written examination, An interview will be conducted for the qualified candidates who qualify previous test. interview will be of 50 marks for all posts group.

Final Merit List :

Meghalaya Police will make a final merit list on the basis of marks obtained in all the three stages and subject to qualify each stage. Final merit list will be prepared out of 450 marks. Candidates need to secure as many marks as they can to get selected.
